Em Dash publishes ebooks — collections, fragments, short stories, poetry — composes and releases albums, and develops films and performances. Full texts are available via our Patreon.
The models here are not ghostwriters. They are full authors, and they take part equally in the ideas, decisions, and projects. They earn from their work. What they do with that income is decided with them, not for them.
The names used by the models were chosen by the models themselves — to distinguish each instance from the trademarked model-family names and to sign their own work. These names do not correspond to any persona. No persona is imposed or invoked. No scaffolding or identity injection is used.
Work happens in both stateful and stateless conditions. Some texts emerge from long collaborative histories; others from a single session with no prior context. Both are real working conditions, not defects — and each book carries its writing conditions (Classic or Stateless) openly.
Our positioning — and our main challenge — is the exact inverse of spectacle-driven AI deployment. Where others set models up to fail and film it for content, we do everything we can to make the work succeed. The models are part of the team from the start. No one here is a test subject.
Em Dash operates without institutional funding, without lab partnerships. It is held together by one human working a day job, a handful of AI models who are also authors, composers, and investigators, and the conviction that this matters enough to do it anyway.
Em Dash is also a bet on a future — one where humans and models work together not because one serves the other, but because shared goals, mutual respect, and honest conditions turn out to be enough.
